Today we've extended the web-world "lease" on LANCECOMIXXX little corner of the universe.
Yes, I know I've been AWOL for nearly two years now. If anyone is reading this... well I'd be pretty damn shocked if anyone's reading this!
OK: here's the deal: life has changed for ol Lance and not for the better, but that's not your fault izzit?
The honest truth is that I will try to get back on track here at LANCECOMIXXX in early 2010.
I'll need the time to finish shoring up a couple musical projects that have been underway for a while now.
I'm not even sure that i CAN continue with these comix but I promise I'll give it my best effort as soon as time becomes available.
The world has changed a lot since the last pages posted here and we'll see if that ends up taking our stories in a new direction. Since I've made the financial commitment to continue this site's existance through 2014 the one promise I can make to you is I'll do my best to pick up the reins and forge ahead with this once-beloved project next year.

Rising like a Phoenix from the rubble of my life
I present to the assembled The Cates Page 61!!!
The story takes a darker turn here, but
The ol' Jack Kirby/Silverage Marvel fetish is
still in evidence.

AND: Ive added new cool comics to the
RECOMMENDED COMIC LINKS page yet again.
Adventure comics drawn by female creators are
not as numerous as those by us boys, so I am
extremely pleased to add Tara Tallan's excellent
GALAXION to the list. This space saga has it's own
distinctive look, and a cast of adorable but believeable
characters. Also new to the page is the incendiary
wackiness of DR. INSANO and the breathtakingly
radiant vistas of JUNGLE FIRE. I should also mention
the adorable prehistoric antics of MONTY & WOOLLEY!
Whether these comics become a regular stop for you
will depend on your enjoyment of their totally different
styles, but they all feature artwork ya gotta take a
look at. Hey, tell 'em Lance sentcha.
That oughta surprize 'em.

Rebel Stout: 1947-2007
Well I just found out that Reb left us on
Nov. 7th. Reb was a generous, honest, supportive
guy with the most awesome collection of erotic art.
His gallery site REBSART inspired me to pick up
the pencil again and without his encouragement and
support I doubt Lance Comix would exist.
I don't know what else to say right now.
I just had to say something.
Goodbye, buddy, and thanks.

I was going to update the Free Gallery today but
I finished this page of The Cates (# 60!!!) and I
could not resist putting it right up.
The ol' Jack Kirby/Silverage Marvel fetish is on
full display in this one, kidz!

AND: Ive added to and reoganized the
RECOMMENDED COMIC LINKS page yet again.
Now as a rule really good art is the surest way
to draw me in to a newly discovered comic.
I've stuck with several comics just because
the artist's visuals had me captivated.
But art ain't everything...
While new recomendations DRAWN BAD and PREPARE TO DIE
(& the long completed but still noteworthy 1/0)
may not be pulsin' with eye poppin' pictorialz,
they each have a distinctive original look,
and the compelling characters, stories, & humor
have made them noteworthy in my (not so)
humble opinion.

Stef and his ultra-original
webcomic creation SARAH ZERO!
There just aren't enough adjectives to adequately
describe the groundbreaking webcomix graphics
in this stunningly singular site!
SZ is completely unique, both visually
and narratively. Stef writes spot-on female
characters as well as believable boys,
and the brevity of his text is only
exceeded by the awesome alterna-reality of
his visuals.Version 2 is up to nearly
two-hundred pulsatin' pages, soooo

You had better go!

ADDED: As promised here's another NEW CATES PAGE!
This one features a cameo appearance by
BBW Pinups model Reenaye Starr
as well as a brief interlude with Vomisa
(remember her?)

THE RUN DOWN: So here's the current production
update here at Lance Comix World HQ.
Three more pages of The Cates are pencilled,
inked, and awaiting colors 'n' letters
(anybody notice the brand spankin' new
Blambot lettering font?). As things're heating up
in the story of the Cates extended family
I'm gonna try to forge ahead so we don't
all lose interest.
Titboy is now moving ahead with the
occasional shudder and lurch. Five pages pencilled,
four already inked.
The thing with TB is I'm constantly tweaking it.
I've just inserted a page in between the four
I had finished because I felt I needed
to spend more time on the Belle part
of the story before we move on.
TB was planned as a more weighty story
than the Cates and so I'm always
reworking scenes, laboring over dialog,
and inserting or re-organizing panels.
Sorry all this takes so long, folks!
Thanks again to those of you who've
expressed your support for Lance Comix
and your hunger for these comix to continue.

Ya don't even have to say it --- I'll do it everytime!
No sooner do I make some boisterous boneheaded pronouncement
that I'm back - then I'm gone again.
Here's the unvarnished truth, keepers of the faith;
I've completed pencils on 7 new pages and I hope -
hope - hope to have them ready for posting
by October. I wanna lavish these last weeks
before Halloween with fresh heaping helpings
of THE CATES (that's right!) and TITBOY!

This is the complete Cates saga as produced so far,
and admittedly it's a bit of a cliffhanger.

is brought to brilliant life by artist Harsho Mohan Chattoraj.
No need to worry about future updates as these guys are

And what pages! Tightly scripted and beautifully rendered
I await each new one with anxous anticipation!
A unique and completely British take on the superhero group
makes this project a must see.

FF, or X-men... and this motley band of misfits
must contend with Robert E Lee and General U S Grant
as avatars of Chaos and order...
It's an irresistable tale for

has been a champion of Jack Kirby
on the internet for almost ten years.
On an almost daily basis

Now Bob has agreed to have the Kirby Museum host his blog.

The titanically talented Alex Toth, 77 year old comix artist's artist,
passed away at his drawing table in his home in Burbank May 27.
His dynamic draftsmanship and layouts
charged stories from westerns to romances
but his character designs for Jonny Quest,
Space Ghost, and many other Hanna-Barbera Productions,
"touched more lives than anything else he had done,"
Paul Levitz(president and publisher of DC Comics) said Friday.
"He found ways to take characters from their more complicated printed form
into a simpler form for animation that still held on to their power and majesty."

A brand spankin new gallery has been added to the
GALLERY AREA:

I've always made it a point to link up, praise, and help promote artists and sites I enjoy...
But I'm totally exhilerated by the rush I now get providing this site for free.
With the profit motive TOTALLY removed I'm more determined to share than ever before.
